Parkland Florida is part of the Miami metropolitan area in northern Broward County. Home to some of the most amazing plant life, you will find yourself immersed in what feels like a rainforest. Whenever I am here I feel completely free — most likely due to my first time here being in the middle of the pandemic. There are no racing thoughts, no to-dos, just peace.
Pictured above is a family friend’s home. With a backyard home to woodland creatures, mango trees, and sunshine showers occurring often, it is truly paradise. The gated community allows us to ride our bikes on the open road. Sometimes, we ride to neighboring communities to look at the different houses and architecture.

Holding over 350 stores, over 70 luxury outlets, and 15 restaurants, Sawgrass Mills is the largest shopping destination in the U.S. With top-notch dining and entertainment, you won’t want to pass up the opportunity to spend an afternoon at this luxury shopping destination. My first time here I spent countless hours in stores like Century 21 and Bloomingdales which I had never been in before. With each store more magnificent than the next, I bought my entire Arizona wardrobe here.
GRAND LUXE CAFE
Home to the world’s best chopped salad and smoothies, Grand Lux Cafe is truly impeccable. The Hawaiin Smoothie contains an island blend of pineapple, mango and coconut. Every time I am in town I crave these revitalizing drinks and dishes, making the trip all the more refreshing.

The Guitar Hotel Light Show
The show this hotel displays every night is truly immaculate. It features a series of orchestrated outdoor music while showcasing LED lights built into all sides of the hotel. Choreographed to different songs, the lights are programmed to change color and intensity. The six beams mimic the strings of a guitar neck and are projected at least 20,000 feet into the sky. Seeing the light show from miles away while approaching the hotel made us all that more excited for the night ahead of us.

The hotel offers three waterfront areas for a true beach-style experience. With locally sourced Florida sand set with comfortable beach lounge chairs, you are sure to enjoy a blue-skied sun-filled day amidst waterfalls and swaying palms. They also offer water activities such as canoeing, paddle-boarding and more.
Council Oak Steaks & Seafood
A staple of Seminole Hard Rock, this restaurant offers a sophisticated, classic-American steakhouse fare. Overlooking a lavish pool with deluxe waterfalls, Council Oak’s design features an open kitchen, an in-house butcher shop, multi-level seating, and a glass-enclosed wine room. I ordered the filet mignon and creamed spinach. It was truly out of this world delicious!
